Unlike the TCT, the Dualogic is an automated manual rather than a true dual-clutch automatic. It uses a hydraulic clutch actuator to operate a conventional clutch automatically. When the actuator loses the ability to hold and release hydraulic pressure consistently, the clutch engages incorrectly, producing the characteristic stall or hesitation on gear selection. The fault is most pronounced at low speeds or in heavy traffic where frequent gear changes put continuous demand on the actuator. This is not normal Dualogic behaviour. The actuator, the hydraulic pump or the pressure circuit can be tested individually to identify exactly where the fault lies.

It depends on the fault, but most Fiat TCT and Dualogic problems worsen under continued use. If your Fiat is stalling on gear selection, refusing to engage drive, showing a gearbox warning light, or producing grinding or clunking noises, driving it further will increase the repair cost. On the TCT, continued driving with clutch slip degrades the wet clutch packs and mechatronic unit rapidly, turning a targeted repair into a full rebuild. On the Dualogic, continued operation with a failing actuator can overstress the hydraulic pump and pressure circuit. Is it worth repairing a Fiat TCT or Dualogic, or should I replace it?

Repair or reconditioning is almost always the right answer economically.
