P0715-64/P0700-02 are documented by JLR on certain 8HP-equipped Sport vehicles; other codes vary by generation. The exact ZF gearbox and all stored TCM DTCs should be identified before repair decisions are made.

First-generation L320 models use ZF six-speed automatics, with later versions introducing eight-speed ZF units. The L494 and current-generation Sport use ZF eight-speed automatic transmissions, with the exact derivative depending on engine and year.
Converter lock-up is one possible cause, but propshaft, tyres and other driveline components can create similar vibration. A road test and transmission live data help separate them.
On some L494 vehicles the twin-speed transfer case can cause low-speed turning judder. JLR has published technical guidance for this concern, so the gearbox should not be assumed to be the cause.
JLR documented these codes on some 2017–2018 8HP45/8HP70 vehicles with flashing D after a stop/start event. TCM adaptation/software or the mechatronic valve block may be involved.
A targeted valve-body repair may cost considerably less than a full transmission rebuild. Significant ZF 8HP damage can move into the low thousands, particularly on high-torque applications.
